Software refers to the programs, data, and instructions that tell a computer what to do, such as operating systems, applications, and games. Hardware, on the other hand, refers to the physical components of a computer system, including the processor, memory, storage devices, input/output devices, and peripherals. Software interacts with hardware to perform tasks and execute programs.
A web browser is a software application used to access and navigate the World Wide Web, allowing users to view web pages, interact with websites, and download files. Popular web browsers include Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and Microsoft Edge. A search engine, on the other hand, is a website or online service that allows users to search for information on the internet by entering keywords or phrases. Examples of search engines include Google, Bing, and Yahoo.
Cybersecurity refers to the practice of protecting computer systems, networks, and data from unauthorized access, cyberattacks, and other security breaches. It encompasses measures such as encryption, firewalls, antivirus software, secure authentication, and security protocols to prevent, detect, and respond to threats. Cybersecurity is important because it helps safeguard sensitive information, privacy, financial assets, and critical infrastructure from cyber threats, data breaches, and cybercrime.
RAM (Random Access Memory) and ROM (Read-Only Memory) are both types of computer memory, but they serve different purposes. RAM is volatile memory used by the computer to temporarily store data and program instructions that are actively being used or processed. It allows for quick access and manipulation of data by the CPU. ROM, on the other hand, is non-volatile memory that contains firmware or software instructions that are permanently stored and cannot be modified or erased by the user. It typically stores the computer's startup instructions and essential system software.
